Chicago / Naperville Captique Specialist – Dr. John Bull

Captique is a non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid material used to reduce facial wrinkles and the newest hyaluronic acid filler FDA approved. It is indicated for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds. Captique is injected just under the skin’s surface to replenish volume lost during the aging process.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural substance found in all living organisms. It hydrates the skin by holding in water, and acts as a cushion and lubricant to reduce damage to the skin. Hyaluronic acid is an important component of youthful skin that helps to maintain skin volume. Captique, like other dermal fillers, are substances that are injected just below the surface of the skin to replace natural elements of the skin that are lost during the aging process. These fillers are one of the most popular ways to rejuvenate the face and can help restore a more youthful appearance. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the greatest increase in the past five years among all cosmetic procedures has been in nonsurgical procedures such as the use of dermal fillers.

Is Captique similar to Restylane – are there any benefits over Restylane?
Captique is similar to Restylane. It is derived from the same non-animal source as Restylane and is manufactured in a similar process. However, Captique is a softer HA compared to Restylane and has a more favorable adverse effect profile as it relates to pain, swelling and bruising.

Is Captique safe?

Yes. Captique was approved in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration in December 2004 and is safe and effective. The primary ingredient in Captique is a non-animal form of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin.
