Short-Term Lip Augmentation Options

• Collagen (cosmoderm/cosmoplast) – an injectable product derived from human collagen grown under a controlled laboratory environment. This lasts an average of 3 months. Naperville lip augmentation patients no longer have to do a test for allergies because the new collagen is derived from human cells.
• Cymetra – an injectable form of AlloDerm (real human tissue that is put through a special process to enhance safety).

Long-Lasting Lip Enhancement Solutions

• Alloderm – a soft, pliable, implant with a natural feel made from real human tissue. Alloderm will usually last 9 months to 1 year on average. Studies show that your own cells will grow into the implant to give it permanence. After several months, however, some of the product may be absorbed.
• Restylane – is made of Hyaluronic acid, another ground substance in the skin. The acid is cross-linked so that when it is placed in the skin it will have a longer lasting result between 6 months to a year. While Restylane will last longer than Bovine Collagen, some lip augmentation Naperville patients have reported intermittent lip swelling while Restylane is in place. It is not currently FDA approved for use in the lip. It has been approved for other uses on the face, such as nasolabial lines and wrinkles.
