Who is a Good Candidate for HydraFacial?

HydraFacial can be beneficial for patients in all age demographics with most skin types, any skin tone, and a variety of concerns. It improves everything from pimples and other forms of acne to wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, discoloration, pre-cancerous spots, oily skin, blocked pores, uneven skin texture, and other types of sun damage. Patients with some specific skin conditions—such as rosacea, sunburn, and active rashes—may benefit more from a different option.

For pregnant and breastfeeding women, our providers modify HydraFacial treatments by omitting certain steps and/or selecting specific serums, exfoliants, and other products that are considered safer or more appropriate for people in this stage of life.

How Does HydraFacial Work?

HydraFacial offers a more in-depth cleansing compared to the manual extractions that are typically performed in facials. It combines techniques that are similar to those used in chemical peels and microdermabrasion.

The first step involves gently exfoliating and resurfacing the skin by removing the outer layer of dead cells so that a new, healthier skin layer can be revealed.

Vortex suction with a vacuum-like tip is then used to extract the debris from the pores while at the same time pushing in moisturizing serums that improve skin health and provide protection.

The final step consists of infusing potent solutions that are designed to work on certain skin conditions. The treatments are highly customizable and can be personalized for a patient’s specific skin irregularities, as well as upgraded with boosters chosen for specific skin needs—including brightening, aging, hydration, and more—and LED light therapy.

The average treatment lasts anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes.
