How Long is Recovery from Liposuction?

Let’s face it: Unless your employer believes in unlimited vacations or you have lots of help with your kids, it can be pretty tough to find time off to recover from a cold, let alone a cosmetic surgery like liposuction.
Perhaps that’s why one of the most popular questions we get asked is this one: “How long is recovery from liposuction?”
Check out our answers below!

For Small Treatment Areas: 3-4 Days

If you had liposuction performed on a small area – like underneath the chin, around the knees, or the armpits – then it’s likely you’ll be able to return to work in just a few days after your surgery.
Keep in mind that this doesn’t mean you can go right back to the gym or lift heavy objects. Your movement will still be partially restricted for a week or two while your surgical incisions heal. In general for a larger area such as the abdomen if your job does not require lifting or straining the average is between 3 to 5 days before returning to work.

Dr. John Bull will provide you with an in-depth plan to follow during your first two weeks of recovery.
