Are you interested in undergoing a laser skin resurfacing procedure, but nervous about potential downtime?

We understand. After all, there are plenty of horror stories about laser skin resurfacing procedures gone wrong, especially a decade or two ago. So it’s no wonder plenty of patients come to their laser skin resurfacing consultations worried about having to hide away from the world for a few weeks while they recover from their laser skin resurfacing procedure.

That’s why we’re dedicated to busting the myths around laser skin resurfacing, including how much downtime you’ll actually need for your treatment!

How Much Downtime is Required with Laser Skin Resurfacing?

As it turns out, laser skin resurfacing technology has improved over the years, making it easier than ever for patients to go right back to their normal routines after treatment.

Here’s what you can expect for downtime with laser skin resurfacing:

  • Your skin will appear somewhat red immediately after treatment; this redness is usually visible for about 10 days after the procedure. You’ll need to apply an ointment to your face throughout this time, as it helps aid with the healing process.
  • Once your skin turns a pink color, you’ll be able to wear makeup to help cover up the discoloration.
  • For the next three weeks, your skin may appear a bit blotchy while it heals from the laser skin resurfacing treatment. By the sixth week, you should begin to see radiant, smooth, and younger-looking skin.

If you want laser skin resurfacing treatments with less downtime, Dr. Bull can provide milder options that still deliver excellent results.
