What Did the Results of the Study Show?

The study offered data taken during the research conducted of 59 adolescent and young women with a mean age of 17 years old, all of whom had asymmetry in the breasts, differing by at least one cup size. According to the data studied, self-esteem and emotional well-being scores were found to be significantly lower in girls with asymmetrical breasts than the scores of girls with symmetrical breasts.

A closer look at the data found mental health similarities between girls with asymmetrical breast sizes and adult women who had negative self-esteem and emotional health impacts after having breast cancer.

The study also suggested that early intervention could have a significant impact on improving future health for younger patients.
